This week on social, Church leaders talk about their experiences at BYU Education Week and the Together In Christ YSA conference.

President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, talked about the fear of moving forward in a Facebook video post, Aug. 23. “You might feel like you’re not on the “traditional” path that your peers are on,” he said.

Although it can be worrisome, President Ballard advised, “If you’re unsure of the next step in your path, act “as if” you were the person you would like to be. As you do that, you will grow into that kind of person. Ultimately your very actions, your attitude, will lead you toward being the kind of person you want to be.”

Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson, said on Aug. 25, “We are responsible for our own conversion. Our effort must be constant and personal.”

On Aug. 22, Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles talked about his experience speaking at BYU Education Week.

“During my BYU Education Week devotional address, I shared that sometimes we fall into a trap of believing in false dichotomies,” he said.

Sister Kristin M. Yee, second counselor in the Relief Society general presidency, posted a video on Aug. 18, about the 5K race during the Together In Christ conference. “Several analogies stood out to me that I wanted to share with you,” she said.

Among the analogies was a reminder that “we were meant to run at our own pace.”

“Become a difference maker,” said Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman in a post on Aug. 22. “The Lord needs you.”

Sister Amy A. Wright, first counselor in the Primary general presidency, talked about her experience helping train at a seminar for new mission leaders in a post on Aug. 22.

In the seminar she shared a story about a group of children in Mexico who “embody Christlike attributes and joyfully share the light of the gospel.”

Sister J. Anette Dennis, first counselor in the Relief Society general presidency, said in a post on Aug. 21, that one of the most important lessons from the story of Peter walking on the water is that when he began to sink, “he reached out to the Lord for help.”

“We are all going to have times when we feel like we are sinking. But as we reach out to the Savior, He will lift us up and walk with us through our storms, calming them in His own time and in His own way.”

Sister Tracy Y. Browning, second counselor in the Primary General Presidency, posted on Aug. 23, a reminder about the Friend magazine’s special issue for August that focuses on Baptism and Confirmation.
